Has to be Elephantine Island.
Though of course there’s no way to know (yet anyway), I can well imagine that the Jewish Temple which sat on this island in the middle of the Nile at Aswan would have been somewhere on this patch of land.
Here are some photos I took while I was there. (The one above is from Google Earth- I didn’t take it from the plane or anything, just so you know).
Yes, I think all in all, if I were to go back to Egypt, I’d spend all my time at Aswan.

Jim,
Actually, from what I can see, your marked is on the southern side of site, near the OK fortifications (if I can see correctly from the photo).
The German/Swiss excavations have actually found what may be very good evidence of the exact location of the temple. I don’t have the exact reference with me, but it appeared in their reports a few years ago.

Yup, that is the team. From what I remember offhand, in one of their reports they speak of a a thick floor level in the center of the site, which they believe is the temple (and which correlates with its location according to the Elephantine documents).

Funny that you say so. This afternoon, I attended a lecture on southern Egypt, and several people said that Elephantine was the most beautiful place along the Nile.
