Archaeological Sites Related to the Bible and Ancient Near East on Google Earth

Thanks to the good graces of Jonas Lendering, you can download a file of sites related to the Bible and the Ancient Near East  here. Simply save to your desktop.  Jonas informs me that better, more up to date versions will be made available in the near future.  When they are, and he sends me the file, I’ll upload that too.

In the meantime, I’ve also added a link to it to the Archaeology page of Biblical Studies Resources.

  1. I should add that if you use the markers that Jim now helps to make available, you will find a subdirectory that is called “new”, which contains markers for the ancient Near East; these were made available by Mr Olof Pedersén of the University of Uppsala. You can find his own webpage here: http://www.anst.uu.se/olofpede/Links.htm

  2. Head over to Abzu and search for “kmz” and you’ll find a heap of additional information to load into your Google Earth.
