Not Only Was ‘Pastor’ Mike A Deceiver, He Was A Porn Addict To Boot

The Australian reports further disclosures about the ‘Pastor’ that so many followed- blindly.

THE father of disgraced pastor Michael Guglielmucci has revealed his son has been addicted to pornography since the age of 12. Danny Guglielmucci – whose high-profile preacher son last week week admitted his two-year battle with cancer was fake – said the “severe addiction to pornography” was part of a bizarre double life his son had been leading.

What? His dad knew, and never said anything to the Church? Aiding and abetting sin by silence is the same thing as committing sin.

Mr Guglielmucci, who established Edge Church International, an Assemblies of God church in Adelaide, said Melbourne-based Michael had made a full confession to his family about his past, including revelations about the 16-year porn obsession and the lies over his supposed battle with terminal illness. … Mr Guglielmucci said his son finally confessed after the guilt of his lies and addiction became overwhelming. “He lived the two lives and he would get sick as a result of the guilt,” he said.

Sure- after the facts came out in the press about his deception. But I think his dad is doing what any good dad would do- defend their child. Yet this is just more evidence that these sorts only ‘come clean’ when it’s too late. What we all need to see is someone on top of their game admit that they have done wrong- before they find themselves described as wrongdoers in the press. Such persons as admit their weaknesses before they become a publicity nightmare are deserving of full support, restoration, and encouragement. Those who only want to do damage control after the fact are merely continuing the manipulation to which they have become so accustomed.

The truly penitent should be forgiven. The manipulators should be left to stew in their own juicy wretchedness until such time as they are willing to truly and authentically repent.

Evil, Demonic, Devil Cat Finally Shows Its Horns

Here’s the photo. And though the press is claiming that the feline has four ears, it’s obviously, patently clear that two of those projectiles are horns. More proof, gentle readers, that cats are evil incarnate.

Before He Lost His Mind…

Caspar Schwenckfeld actually spoke and wrote sensibly.  I know, it’s shocking, but before he fell into the trap that all spiritualists fall into, i.e., the trap of believing their own experience trumps revelation, he was level headed and intelligible.  So when he wrote a brief pamphlet calling Luther to task in 1528 for his misinterpretation of the Lord’s Supper (and published on the 24th of August) it was only natural that he approach Zwingli for a Foreword.  Which, just as naturally, Zwingli was more than happy to provide.

This just goes to show you that one day your friends are the next day sometimes your enemies.  When Schwenckfeld went bonkers both Luther and Zwingli found lots to dislike in his ideas.  Correctly.  It also goes to prove the old dictum, ‘There’s nothing new under the sun.’  There really isn’t.  From the Tertullian of his later life to Schwenckfeld and the schismatics to the Pentecostal movement of the 19th century to the present day Todd Bentley’s, there’s a straight line of continuity in the advancement of private revelation over revealed scripture.

Schwenkfeld wasn’t the first spiritualist to lose his mind.  And he wasn’t the last.

I simply pass this along in stunned amazement sans comment. Roland Boer informs us today of the Tony Blair Faith Foundation… I’m not even going to link to it. You’ll have to go to Roland’s place for that.

Die Zeitschrift „Nature“ (London/New York) berichtet darüber. Laut Bibel sind der Beinverlust und die damit verbundene Veränderung im Körperbau von Schlangen eine Strafe Gottes für die Verführung Evas. In 1. Mose 3,14 wird die Schlage verflucht: „Auf deinem Bauche sollst du kriechen und Erde fressen dein Leben lang“. Den heutigen Zustand der Schlangen interpretieren Schöpfungswissenschaftler daher als eine Degeneration der Ur-Schlange, die ursprünglich ein edles, auch körperlich hoch stehendes Tier gewesen sei. Dieser Ansicht ist beispielsweise der britische Biochemiker Prof. Arthur Ernest Wilder-Smith (1915-1995).

You ’science’ people crack me up.  You operate on more ‘presumption’ and ‘theory’ and ‘guesswork’ and ’speculation’ than any other group in all of academia.  And you delude yourselves and others into thinking yours the most reliable of the magic arts.

Jesus Christ: Superstar

08/24/2008 Leave a comment

There’s yet another Jesus movie in the works. Jesus really is a superstar. They make a film about him every couple of years these days it seems. And in the 70’s and 80’s folk were ashamed of him. Funny how history swings pendulum like. The film’s title is Kingdom Come and New Zealand will be the location. New Zealand? Really? Well now I suspect hobbits and rings and white wizards will be Jesus’ contemporaries like dinosaurs and humans are contemporaries at the ‘Creation Museum’.

This bit of the report makes me wonder about the theological / historical quality of the production:

Jesus lived in Capernaum after becoming a prophet and it was the home of Peter, Andrew, James and John – the four fishermen who became disciples. … The director is Dean Wright, a visual effects supervisor on The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian.

Still, it might be fun. Even if fantastical. [H.T. James Davila]

Turin Nonsense: American Style

08/24/2008 4 comments

In spite of the fact that it has been thoroughly debunked and disproven, some still cling to the folly called the ‘Shroud of Turin’ as a legitimate artifact from the life of Jesus. Consider the mania over the fraudulent relic which marks John and Rebecca Jackson.

It seems that the simplest explanation for comprehending the reason some folk think it authentic is that they need something tangible to shore up their faith. Evidently ‘faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen’ has escaped them.
