I Had No Idea I Was A ‘Crowd’

But the ‘Enemy‘ crowd-ifies me in a post in which he defends (with the usual political circumlocution, mystical misdirection, and misinformation ‘enemies’ are so famous for) Israel’s hindrance of the Palestinian students whose visas are blocked by the Israeli government. Evidently he is incapable of seeing three simple truths:

1- Israel controls Palestinian visas.
2- Israel is withholding visas from the Fulbright Scholars who reside in Gaza.
3- Therefore, the focus of attention is on Israeli policy.

Rather, though, than facing up to those simple facts he wishes to change the subject (the formal tactic of all those who hide in anonymity and then blast away from behind the bunkers). The issue ISN’T the refusal of the US Government to grant many student visas. Nor is it an Italian man. Nor is it bribery and corruption amongst border patrol agents. As far as the present issue is concerned, those are best described as ‘red herrings’. When discussing an issue it’s best to keep focused on the actual issue itself rather than dodging it. Come on ‘Job’- address the issue and do your best to avoid changing the subject simply because there is no legitimate or logical reason for the Israeli government’s action.

Judgement Day

Ian McEwan has written a two part essay in the Guardian that folk may, I think, find intriguing. Part One here, and Part Two here.

Israel: Let Those Students Go!

Come on Israel- do the right thing. Let those excellent students take advantage of their Fulbright Scholarships. It’s an honor they shouldn’t be denied and there’s simply no reason, political or otherwise, to rob them of an opportunity of a lifetime. Let them go.

Seven Palestinian scholars may lose their prized Fulbright scholarships to attend American universities because Israel won’t let them out of the Gaza Strip. The Palestinians are clearly angry at Israel for its refusal to let them leave, but they are also annoyed at the United States for not being able to influence its Mideast ally Israel to crack open its Gaza blockade just enough to let the seven students and their books out of the area, reports ABC News.

The Evils of the Myanmar Junta Are Unending

It’s difficult (sometimes) to muster up adequate disdain for a government which treats its own citizens with utter loathing and cruelty. But, in the case of the Burmese Junta, it’s getting easier by the day. First, their unconscionable delays in getting help to the victims of the cyclone; and now, even worse,

Myanmar’s military government is forcing cyclone victims out of refugee camps and “dumping” them near their devastated villages with virtually no aid supplies, U.N. and church officials said Friday.

That’s sickening. And cruel, and downright evil. Will we not intervene, militarily if necessary, to help those people? We ‘helped’ the oppressed people of Iraq and they didn’t even need it (in comparison to the people of Burma). It’s time for the U.S. and the U.N. to DO something and stop their silly endless ‘talking’ to those Junta beasts.

Ohhh… That’s Just Wrong!

Crossley’s stooped to a new low with his little diddy and- even more horrific- his wicked photoshopping… of our esteemed friend Keith.

It’s just wicked, James. How could you…

Jacques Berlinerblau On Obama’s Latest Pastor Disaster

Rev. Michael Pfleger is the culprit this time. Berlinerblau writes

During his sermon, Father Pfleger mocked Hillary Clinton’s tears before the New Hampshire primary. He opines that she cried because she felt “entitled” because she is white “and there’s a black man stealing my show.” Father Pfleger apologized late Thursday for the remarks, saying his sermon was “inconsistent with Senator Obama’s life and message.” But by delivering his remarks, Father Pfleger seems to have officially submitted his entry to the What Else Can We At Trinity Do to Further Assure that the United States Does Not Have Its First African-American President Any Time Soon? video competition. And this application has “Finalist” marked all over it.

Read the whole. You sort of have to feel sorry for Obama. His connections will be his undoing; but, as we all know, you just can’t help what your crazy friends do!

Technology Put to A Good Use, For A Change

As Antonio L. reports, Italian researchers are using a technology usually used in reconstructive surgery to create reproductions of many cuneiform tablets. Read the whole description here.

Alas Poor Evolutionarianism, I Knew Thee Well…

But thou art on the decline in America’s classrooms. So reports Ethics Daily.

Evolution may be winning in the courtroom but losing in the classroom, warns a new nationwide study about teaching of evolution and creationism in high schools. Penn State researchers say about one sixth of biology teachers in the United States believe human beings were created by God in their present form within the last 10,000 years. While that is far fewer than the 48 percent of the general public that embraces a young-earth creationism, it affects the amount of time they devote to teaching evolution in the classroom. Teachers who espouse a young-earth view on average devoted 35 percent fewer class hours to evolution than other teachers.

Ah the heyday of science-isms powerful and tyrannical domination of all ‘truth’ is waning. Farewell, science-iolatry. Now you get to experience the same decline religion has. Feels fun, huh?!
