I Don’t Care If It Is Free, It’s Still Too Expensive And Not Worth The Cost

March 17, 2008

The Apology Study Bible, I mean, that Nick N. is getting to review.  Nick is enthralled, it seems, of the study ‘bible’ that provoked a bit of discussion some few days back.  In fact, he seems to be salivating over it (and I’m sure that I saw a fleck of spittle on the post he sent up into cyber-air).

He lists a few of the contributors and seems to be overjoyed at their presence.  My reaction was nearly 180 degrees in the opposite direction.  I can think of maybe one or two who do good work and the rest, well, um, no.  In fact, if it were subjected to the ‘truth in advertising’ law, it would have to be renamed ‘the Indoctrination Bible’ as its purpose is, self evidently, to indoctrinate.

And Nick may have heard good things about the base translation (the Holman Standard), but he’s obviously only listened to folk previously similarly indoctrinated.

Nick- repent.
