Total Depravity: Spitzer Style
March 10, 2008The Governor of New York- Mr Ness, the crime fighter, the destroyer of misrepresentation, etc., has himself been guilty of employing prostitutes. ABC News reports
A law enforcement official has told The Associated Press that New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s involvement in a prostitution ring was caught on a federal wiretap. The official says Spitzer is identified in court papers as “Client 9,” and the wiretap was part of an investigation that opened in the last few months. The official says the New York governor met last month with at least one woman in a Washington hotel. The law enforcement official spoke on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation.
So, Mr Crime Buster Spitzer spits- on his constituency, the haughty phlegm of arrogance and mucous of hypocrisy. Here’s another example of a public official speaking out of both sides of his life. Good grief.

Thank goodness, we programmers and professors aren’t hypocrites like those politicians. That’s why Jesus hung out with guys like us!
Programmers do all their smarminess behind the scenes. Professors and pastors have taken their whacks here as well. I hold to the ‘name em and shame em’ school of policy- regardless of profession.
I just heard Congressman King call Eliot (client # 9) the most self-righteous person he had ever met.
Maybe I am jaded but this type of behavior from politicians no longer shocks me. What I find inexplicable is the wife is always there by the disgraced politician’s side. I would hold my own press conference announcing my intention to file for divorce. The call girl got $ 4300 for this tryst. If I was the wife I would be mad about that waste of money as well.
Quite right John. If she were married to Kobe Bryant she’d have a big ole rock by now.
