Herod’s Tomb
March 6, 2008News today indicating that the National Geographic Channel will air a special on Herod’s Tomb later in the year. The MediaWeek blurb says
As documentaries have long been Nat Geo’s stock in trade, the net has a wide array of long-form specials in the works, including Herod’s Lost Tomb, which will give the world its first look inside the recently discovered tomb of the Biblical heavy, who as the Roman king of the client state of Judaea, built the Masada and Herodium fortresses and was instrumental in securing reliable water supplies for the desert province. Herod’s tomb will be pried open in the fourth quarter of 2008.
I’m kind of scared… this being another ‘tv’ special about a biblical theme. TV’s track record on such things being extraordinarily miserable and Nat. Geo. not having produced anything really worth watching in the past several years. But here’s hoping… More of course when specifics come to light.
